Dodson Motorsport was established in 2000 by Glenn Cupit, a qualified automotive engineer, and Harry Dodson, of Dodson Autospares.  Between them they have 65 years of experience in the automotive field.  From our background of race car fabrication, tuning, maintenance and gearbox preparation, we expanded into high end road car modifications with the development of dual clutch transmission components in 2007.

We have developed many high quality upgraded components for the Nissan R35 GTR GR6 Transmission including the worlds first 8, 9 and 10 plate Dual Clutch.

Dodson Motorsport is the world leader in aftermarket dual clutch development for use in high horse power vehicles like the Nissan R35 GTR and Mitsubishi EVO X SST.

Our specialised team have undertaken many custom transmission projects for clients around the world and are available for special developments by request.

From our origins we still remain committed and involved to a variety of race teams including our own fleet of Nissan GTR’s and Rod Harvey’s Rayglass world record holding drag car.

Dodson Motorsport is New Zealand’s agent for OS Giken, one of Japan’s leading racing engineering firms. They specialize in designing and manufacturing high performance OS clutches, OS Super Lock LSD, OS Close Ratio Gear Kit, OS RB30, 31, 31.5 engines and OS Sequential Transmissions as well as other OS special parts. OS Giken has a reputation world wide for durability and quality.

GReddy provides a complete array of performance products to maximize the excitement and enjoyment you get from your vehicle. These famous, high build quality products are designed for fast road or race car applications where high power output, durability and endurance are demanded.

With our own on site mechanically connected 4WD rolling road dyno we can offer all aspects of dyno tuning as well as our specialized tuning team can offer any service from a COBB upgrade to a piggy back ECU’s from Wolf and GReddy up to full wire into MoTec systems for the serious race car.  Specialised programming of plug in R35 TCM and ECU tuning available on request.

Our Transmission/Gearbox experts offer all aspects of manual and dual clutch Transmission/Gearbox rebuilding, modifying or installation for all manufactuers including OS Giken, Jerico, PPG, Hollinger, Borg Warner, and OEM manufactures.

Dodson Motorsport: World Dealer for Exedy Friction and Steels

exedyWe are proud to announce that we are now the world dealer for Exedy R35 GTR friction and steels.  The Exedy frictions and steels are manufactured to the highest standards available and exceed OEM specifications.  We have been testing many plates and combinations for the last six months and finally approved the new combinations.

We will have 3 different versions available.

  1. Super Stock 7 plate standard parts. Up to 650 ft/lbs
  2. Sportsman’s 8 plate complete with all pistons, seals for life and baskets. Up to 800ft/lbs
  3. Pro Max Up to 10 plates and has all billet housings and oil pump gears.   1000+ ft/lbs


The torque rating specified for each of our clutches is our maximum recommended limit, not the clutches maximum operating limit.  These clutch kits will only be available from Dodson Motorsport dealers.  Clutch upgrade kits ( frictions, steels and shims ) will be available for those who already have baskets and pistons.  It is recommended that the oil pump upgrade be done at the same time as well as changing the line pressure filter.
